Are you ready for a disaster? The government has a lot of good advice on how to prepare yourself and your family for an emergency. You can find it here at www.ready.gov. I've also written a couple of articles on being prepared for disasters and you can find them in the Home Security section of this website.

Gun safety is our most important responsibility as gun owners. I've posted two new articles in the Beginner Tips section covering the NRAs gun safety rules. The rules are definitely worth reading, re-reading, and living by. If you are new to firearms in general, check out my articles on range etiquette and the vital accessories needed by every gun owner. They'll help you learn some of the basic commonsense things that every gun owner needs to know.
Before the recession hit, I had my next gun purchase all figured out. I've always wanted a .22 caliber target pistol that was capable of very good accuracy. I was most interested in the Smith & Wesson 22A, Ruger Mk III, Beretta Neo, or Browning Buckmark. I had settled on the S&W 22A because it was accurate, inexpensive, and easy to clean. I even went to my local gunshop and held a brand new Smith and Wesson 22A in my hand. Then, the recession hit with a vengeance, temporarily derailed my career, and swept those plans away. But, I still haven't forgotten about my planned purchase. I'll be back! What's on your list?
