In a slow economy, it's been tough to round up new guns and ammo. But, I did manage to get a new knife the other day.
I got the American-made W.R. Case Sod Buster Jr. It is a modestly priced working pocket knife, but it feels very comfortable in the hand. The synthetic material in the handle just feels natural. Here is an extended review: Knife Review: Case Sod Buster Jr. Folding Knife If you are new to shooting, the sheer number of firearms makes and models can be daunting. Here is a short video review!
I'm into guns. I have no problem with guns. But, knives scare the bejesus out of me. I bought an interesting knife at Harbor Freight the other day. It's a Gordon 8-inch Hunting / Survival Knife. It's mean looking. But, it has a compass, matches, and other survival stuff built into the handle. You can read all about it at--

Shooting For Cheap: Seven Ways For Shooters To Save Money Crazy, expensive, custom race guns are out. Inexpensive fun guns are in! The Gun Dude is back after a big household move. In a tough economy, how do you save money as a shooter? I turn to the ubiquitous .22! For the price of 20 shots of centerfire ammo, you can get 100 or 150 shots of .22-caliber ammo. I outline some of the advantages of a .22 in my article:
Choosing Your First .22-Caliber Rifle. I'll also be adding more reviews of .22-caliber firearms throughout the site. You really can't go wrong choosing a .22 for shooting fun at your local range. Another option for economical shooting is the air rifle or BB-Gun. I'm working on a home BB Gun range now. If I don't put an eye out, I'll write it up when it's finished. |
